Witness the 1913 Mercer 35-J Raceabout

This 1913 Mercer 35-J Raceabout is offered for sale at the upcoming Broad Arrow Monterey Jet Center Auction after a remarkable 65 years of cherished ownership by a single family in the Lone Star State of Texas. Its history has been meticulously documented over the decades and, quite remarkable for a 111-year-old automobile, its ownership is known and traceable back to its very first owner.

THE CREATIVE CONCEPT

This is the ultimate story of long-term ownership of one of the great early marques, emerging from obscurity and hitting the market 65 years after it last changed hands. Any Mercer Raceabout is a remarkable and significant automobile, but this particular example stands out due to its incredible, documented history spanning over 111 years. Our role was to capture the story behind this iconic vehicle and the owners who are parting with a piece of their family’s legacy.

production

Director Anthony Purcell approached our team to assist in filming this project. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he was unable to be on set, requiring our team to step in and take the lead in filming and co-directing.

With a small but dedicated crew of just three, we successfully brought the vision to life—all within an efficient 8-hour shoot day.
