Nestled in the heart of Southtown, San Antonio, Poetic Republic is more than just a café, it’s a vibrant gathering place where creativity, community, and craft coffee come together. Founded by Jorge and Brenda, this locally cherished spot was born from a shared dream: to create a welcoming space for writers, artists, and coffee lovers alike.
THE CREATIVE CONCEPT
Our goal was to capture the heart of Poetic Republic Coffee. From the inviting energy of the space, to the craftsmanship behind every cup. We followed the full journey from bean to brew, highlighting the roasting, brewing, and thoughtful attention poured into each drink. What emerged is more than a story about coffee; it’s a portrait of passion, community, and the everyday moments that connect us all.

We used a documentary-style, handheld approach with a focus on natural, soft lighting and slow, deliberate movements. The camera moved gently and organically, as if it were part of the environment, blending seamlessly into the café’s peaceful atmosphere. The soft glow of the sunrise helped us achieve a warm, inviting tone and the untouched coffee equipment were used to add an authentic look to each shot.
