Nestled in the heart of Southtown, San Antonio, Poetic Republic Coffee is more than just a café, it’s a vibrant gathering place where creativity, community, and craft coffee come together. Founded by Jorge and Brenda, this locally cherished spot was born from a shared dream: to create a welcoming space for writers, artists, and coffee lovers alike.
THE CREATIVE CONCEPT
Our goal was to capture the heart of Poetic Republic Coffee. From the inviting energy of the space, to the craftsmanship behind every cup.
We followed the full journey from bean to brew, highlighting the roasting, brewing, and thoughtful attention poured into each drink. What emerged is more than a story about coffee; it’s a portrait of passion, community, and the everyday moments that connect us all.

For video production, we used a documentary-style, handheld videography approach with a focus on natural, soft lighting and slow, deliberate movements.
Camera movements were kept gentle and organic to feel as if it were part of the environment, blending seamlessly into the café’s peaceful atmosphere. The soft glow of lighting we created to mimic the sunrise helped us achieve a warm, inviting tone and the untouched coffee equipment were used to add an authentic look to each shot.
Post-production
Our goal was to enhance the visual intimacy we captured on set while bringing the full narrative of Poetic Republic Coffee to life trough professional post-production.
Storytelling was at the heart of every decision. We carefully structured every second to follow their journey, highlighting each step with purpose and clarity. From the roasting process to the final pour, we used pacing, sound, and color to guide the viewer through this crafted experience.
