Ride On VIA: Go Your Own Way
Over the last year, VIA Metropolitan Transit has rolled out the largest service improvements in its history. Increased frequency, extended hours, and brand-new routes all built around one singular goal: getting San Antonio riders to what matters most, on their schedule. We were brought on to tell that story.
THE CREATIVE CONCEPT
The challenge was translating a large-scale infrastructure achievement into something deeply human. Rather than lead with statistics, we led with feeling. The relief of a shorter wait, the freedom of a quicker trip, the city moving with purpose. The result is a cinematic brand film anchored by a simple, powerful idea: wherever you're headed, Ride On.
WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN COVERED:
Full strategic pre-production and creative development
Video production across multiple locations throughout San Antonio
Coordination with VIA operations to film on live buses in service
Managed logistics around real riders and active public spaces
PRODUCTION
This was a production that demanded as much logistical precision as it did creative vision. With a tight shoot timeline and multiple locations spread across San Antonio, our team had to move fast without ever sacrificing the cinematic quality the spot required.
Filming on live VIA buses running through the city added a layer of complexity that kept us sharp. Every shot had to be planned around real schedules, real riders, and the natural rhythm of San Antonio in motion. Rather than working against that energy, we leaned into it. The authenticity of everyday San Antonians going about their lives became part of the story itself.
POST-PRODUCTION
With a brand film of this scale, post-production was where the tone truly came to life. We focused on pacing that felt urgent but never rushed, mirroring the experience of a transit system that's finally moving at the speed its riders deserve. Color work was handled with a cinematic eye, grounding the piece in the warmth and texture of San Antonio while keeping the overall feel polished and intentional.
The final deliverable matched the ambition of the campaign: a film that makes you feel the progress before you ever hear it explained.
